Menus
Interaction with netXtract is based on right-clicking, then selecting from the pop-menu
that is displayed. These menus are context-sensitive, so we invite you to start right-clicking
around and experimenting.
This section will explain the purpose of various pop-up menus and what they do, with links to
more detailed explanations.
Index tab menus
When you right click in the netXtract Index tab:
- if you have right-clicked on a word, the menus available are:
- Show context(s): Toggles to the Context tab, which will display all the contexts of that word
in the current Web document. See

- Add to: Allows you to quickly add the word to a custom dictionary of your choice.

- Ignore: Allows you to quickly add the word to the "Ignored words" built-in dictionary, so that
this word will not be displayed in the index of ANY document.

- Search KBase: Allows you to quickly search your personal Knowledge Base for entries containing that
word. See finding entries in the Knowledge Base
related to a specific word.
- Search WWW: Submits the word to a search engine of your choice. The search results will be displayed
in the Internet Explorer main window.

Context tab menus
When you right click on a context in the Context tab, you are presented with the following menus:

Common menus
When you right click anywhere on the netXtract bar you will get the following menu items.
- Dictionaries...: Opens the Dictionaries window, where you can manage the netXtract dictionaries.

- Preferences...: Opens the Preferences window, where you can set your netXtract personal preferences:
color scheme, start-up options, etc. See customizing netXtract.
- Open KBase...: Opens the Knowledge Base Manager program, where you can retrieve your saved Knowledge Base entries.

- Help: Opens the main entry point in the netXtract help files, in the main IE window.
(same as clicking the small question mark in the netXtract title bar).
- Close: Closes the netXtract bar (same as clicking the small button marked X in the netXtract title bar).
